Description

Ecuador and Galapagos Custom Family Adventure. Treasure hunt in the Andes before your surfing lesson off the coast of the Galapagos. Divide your time between snorkeling with sea lions and visiting the Giant Tortoises lumbering across the fields.

Day 1: Quito arrival: Transfer you to your hotel. Free time to relax and acclimatize to your new surroundings.

Day 2: Quito cable car: head up Pichincha Volcano for fabulous city views. Afternoon visit to Yaku Amu Water Museum, for fun and educational activities.

Day 3: Quito Equator Line: stand with your family literally in the Middle of the World! + visit an artisan chocolate workshop.

Day 4: Mindo: A day immersed in nature. Visit butterfly and orchid farms + Hummingbird café.

Day 5: Mindo: Exhilarating canopy ziplining tour + transfer back to Quito.

Day6 :  Am: Arrival at the Baltra Island airport (GPS), Transfer to Santa Cruz - Pm: Tortugas Natural Reserve
Day 7: Isabela Island: Am: Hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano or Am: Cabo Rosa Tunnels (extra cost ) .
Day 8: Isabela Island: Am: Kayaking in Puerto Villamil. Pm: Cycling in Wetlands
Day 9:  Am: Transfer to the Baltra Island airport (GPS)

DAY 10: Otavalo: shopping at Otavalo handicrafts market + Condor Park birds 

DAY 11: Transfer to the airport in time for your international flight out.

Activities

DAY 1: Quito transfer - Hotel

Quito Arrival: Our guide the will be waiting for you at the Airport and take you to your hotel in Quito.

Free time to relax and acclimatised 

​

DAY 2: Quito City tour - Pichincha Volcano

Following breakfast, we’ll pick you up and take you on an extended tour of one of the most picturesque and colonial cities in South America. We’ll take in the old town of the city, and visit important historical areas such as the Plaza of the Independence and the Presidential Palace. We’ll also take in a number of imposing gothic churches before working up to the amazing Basillica.

Quito cable car: head up Pichincha Volcano for fabulous city views. Afternoon visit to Yaku Amu Water Museum, for fun and educational activities

DAY 3 : Middle of the World 

Quito Equator Line: stand with your family literally in the Middle of the World! + visit an artisan chocolate workshop..

DAY 4: Mindo 

Early start with a beautiful walk to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cloudforest. If you are lucky, you will have the chance to see hummingbirds, but your guide will also point out orchids and other fauna typical to the cloudforest. You can enjoy lunch and a bathe when arriving at the picturesque waterfall. In the afternoon you visit the Butterfly farm and admire some of the rarest and most colourful Orchids

DAY 5: Mindo

After breakfast you will experience and exhilarating canopy tour for approximately 2 hours (suitable for ages 7 and up with guided assistance, or without guide for over 10s). You will fly safely through the upper reaches of the cloudforest and enjoy excellent views! After the canopy adventure our driver will transfer you back to Quito.

Day 6: Transfer Airport Galapagos - 4 Days Land tour 

Arrival in Baltra - Transfer to Isabela Island: Laguna de los Flamingos

The Galapagos Islands can only be reached by flight from Quito or Guayaquil (air ticket not included). A bilingual guide will be waiting for you at the Baltra Island airport, then take you to Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) for lunch.

Afterwards, the guide will take you to take a public boat to Isabela Island. (Leaves at 14:00) on a two and a half hour trip.

After arriving in Isabela and a short break at the hotel, we headed to the Flamingos Lagoon, the largest lagoon in the Galapagos and one of the main places where Flamingos breed. Dinner will be served at the local restaurant specified by the guide.

Day 7: Isabela Island: (Sierra Negra Volcano O Los Tuneles)

OPTION 1 :  AM . Hike to Sierra Negra Chico PM Volcanoes . Snorkel in Concha Perla OPTION 2 : Navigable visit to  Cabo Rosa “Los Tuneles” (extra cost)

OPTION 1:
Early in the morning (08:00) and after breakfast, we will get ready for the excursion to the  Sierra Negra Volcano. 

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, a waterproof poncho, a jacket, sunscreen, a water bottle, sun hats and keeping any electronic in covers in case of rain.

A bag or backpack is also recommended to carry the Box Lunch that you can prepare yourself at the San Vicente hotel as the guide will indicate. Reaching the volcano takes approximately 45 minutes in a goat or in a van, depending on the number of participants.

The 12 km walk lasts around 3 hours . The hike is done on a medium difficulty trail with a shallow slope. The Sierra Negra Volcano has the second longest crater in the world, approximately 6 miles in diameter and 300 f

​

OPTION 2:  (extra cost) The visit to the  Tunnels - Cabo Rosa  (Isabela Island)

It will start around 8 AM in a motor boat after breakfast. The first stopping point is a rocky islet located in the middle of the ocean where you can see pelicans, blue-footed boobies and the occasional sea lion.

The boat will then head to the site known as  Finados , an ideal snorkeling spot where you can swim near sea turtles, red sharks (endemic), surgeon and trumpet fish, and sometimes golden and eagle rays.

Cabo Rosa is constituted by petrified lava formations in the form of tunnels or bridges over the crystalline water where you can see the nascent vegetation of the rock and abundant marine life, this is also a natural refuge for sea lions.

You can also take short walks in the tunnels. The box lunch will be served on the boat and they will return to Isabela around 15:00 PM. After a break in the hotel, dinner will be served in the restaurant specified by the guide.

Day 8: Isabela Island: Tintoreras Islet and Wetlands Complex. 

After breakfast, you will prepare to visit the Tintoreras Islet. We will go to the pier of Puerto Villamil in order to board small boats (capacity for 12 passengers).

After a short walk (approximately 20 min.) We will arrive at the Tintoreras Islet . The name of the islet is derived from the sharks that inhabit the waters that surround the place, the famous whitetip sharks. The islet is one of the most fascinating places on Isabela Island where you can find sea lions, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, zayapas, sea turtles, pelicans, and Galapagos penguins.

Next, we will visit the Wall of Tears. Between 1946 and 1959 Isabela Island was used as a penal colony by the Ecuadorian government, and prisoners were forced to build this wall out of sharp and hard volcanic rocks. The wall is 100 meters long and 7 meters high. On the way back we will visit a lava tunnel near the Wall of Tears.

Also visits to the Mirador Orchilla, Estero de Isabela, and Playa del Amor. Next. Back at the hotel, dinner will be served at the local restaurant specified by the guide.

DAY 9: Transfer to Baltra Airport - Quito - Otavalo

On the last day it is recommended to wake up at 6:00 am to prepare and have breakfast before transfer to Baltra airport where you will take your flight back to Quito or Guayaquil.

The last visit to the departure Twin Craters will depend on the departure time of your flights.

n the morning flight takes you back up the  to Quito with great aerial volcano views on a clear day. You will be met at the airport by our driver and transported north to Otavalo where there is free time to relax at the  Hotel.

Day 10: Otavalo Tour

Otavalo begins with time to shop at the Indian market of Otavalo, famous across the Americas for its fine handicrafts and colourful locals. In the afternoon visits to the sacred Peguche waterfall, a local weaving workshop, and other local sites. Overnight at Otavalo.

Day 11: Treasfer to the Airport - Tour End

Tour end - after breakfast our driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight out.
