DAY 1: Quilotoa - Mama Hilda - Chugchilan

Quilotoa is a beautiful volcanic crater lake located at 3800 meters (12,400 feet) between the towns of Zumbahua and Chugchilán.  Its emerald water spans two kilometres.  Local legend claims it is connected to the ocean and is therefore salty and sulphuric.  Quilotoa is an active volcano, the last major eruption was over 850 years ago. Visiting Quilotoa is an amazing experience at approximately 4,000 meters above sea level.

Activities

• Enjoy the trip to Quilotoa.

• Visit the Zumbahua town.

• Explore either Saquisilí Market(Thursdays), or Pujilí Market (Sundays)

• Visit a local indigenous home where you have the opportunity to interact with the local people

• Visit the Shalala Community, which is best known for its handicrafts.

• Enjoy the view at the Mirador Shalala.

• Once arrived at the Quilotoa Lake, experience a magical descent to the lake, optional kayaking.

• Return ascent to crater, to drive to Hostal mama Hilda.

DAY 2: Chugchilan - Farm - Cheese Factory 

Very early in the morning, you will live the experience of going to the farm of Moreta and having contact with the nature of pumping milk from cows. Then you will have a walk, or on horseback you can go to the cheese factory where you can observe the process observe the process of how the cheese made. Night at Mama Hilda.

DAY 3 : Indigenos School and Village 

Today we get you be a busy day  in local village life. Pre-arranged transport will take you to the  indigenous village of Chugchilan - Guayama where you will visit the local school to spend some time with the kids, they love to learn some words in English!.

- Activities 

- Visit a local community life and the school 

- Have a lunch with a indigenous community

- Learn about the community and protects

- The visit to the community and school is Monday - Friday  

- In the evening back to the Hostal to envoy to a traditional Ecuadorian food 

- End of the tour back to Latacunga or Quito
