Tandayapa Bird Lodge is an Andean cloudforest lodge designed for nature lovers. Everything about the place has this in mind, be it the deck with hummer and fruit feeders, the outdoor jacuzzi, the setups available for hummingbird photography, or the forest blind and on site trails for birding. It is also well-located, within the heart of many great birding areas, making it a great base to visit a variety of local sites.

Since Tandayapa Bird Lodge opened in 2000, 31 species of hummingbird have been recorded on the property, with 12–20 species occurring daily and up to a hundred individuals present at any one time

​Butterfly and moth enthusiasts will also enjoy a visit to Tandayapa. At night, numerous species are attracted to lights near the lodge where they are easy to see and photograph.

5:30am pickup from your hotel in Quito. Birding at Yanacocha and the Nono-Mindo ecoroute with a packed lunch. Visit the super active hummingbird feeders at Tandayapa Bird Lodge in the afternoon before returning to your hotel in Quito.
2 DAYS/1 NIGH
Day 1: 5:30am pickup from your hotel in Quito. Birding at Yanacocha and the Nono-Mindo ecoroute with a packed lunch. Night in Tandayapa Bird Lodge.
Day 2: Full day birding in the Tandayapa Valley. You can have lunch at the lodge or take a packed lunch. Afternoon return to Quito, arriving around 6pm at your hotel.

3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS:
Day 1: 5:30am pickup from your hotel in Quito. Birding at Yanacocha and the Nono-Mindo ecoroute with a packed lunch. Night in Tandayapa Bird Lodge.
Day 2: Most of the day birding in the Milpe Bird Sanctuary with a packed lunch. Optional visit to the Mirador Rio Blanco tanager feeders ($3 extra per person). Night in Tandayapa Bird Lodge.
Day 3: Morning birding in the Tandayapa Valley. You can have lunch at the lodge or take a packed lunch. Afternoon return to Quito, arriving around 6pm at your hotel.
